Spiritual Adoption

Each year our Pro-Life Committee sponsors the opportunity for parishioners to participate in a spiritual adoption. Spiritual adoption is a special opportunity to allow God to use you to save the life of a baby through prayer. This is a family-friendly program based on the idea by Archbishop Fulton Sheen in which participants pray daily for a specific, but unknown, unborn child for nine months. This spiritually adopted baby of yours will be known only by God.

The following prayer was recommended by Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen to be said every day for a period of one year to spare the life of a baby in danger of abortion:

Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, I love you very much. I beg you to spare the life of the unborn baby that I have spiritually adopted, who is in danger of abortion.
