Safe Environment

THANK YOU for your interest in volunteering at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. The Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend requires that all volunteers working with children or teenagers on a regular basis go through a screening process to ensure the safety of the children and teenagers at our parish. In addition, approved volunteers are required to complete traininng with Catholic Mutual every two years and to have a criminal history report processed every four years, which is done by completing the application process again.

RENEWAL VOLUNTEERS REQUIRING TRAINING ONLY:
If you are already an approved volunteer at St. Elizabeth, in order to keep your volunteer status active, you are required to complete training with Catholic Mutual Group (CMG) every two years. Click here for your two-year renewal training. If you have forgotten your id or password, contact the Safe Environment Coordinator at j[email protected]. After completing the CMG training, no other action is necessary.
 

NEW VOLUNTEERS AND FULL RENEWAL VOLUNTEERS REQUIRING UPDATED CRIMINAL HISTORY (every four years):

If you are interested in volunteering for the first time or if you are already actively volunteering at our parish or anywhere in the diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend and need to fully renew your volunteer status which is required every four years, please complete the three steps listed below. Once all three steps are completed, your application will be reviewed by the parish's Safe Environment Coordinator, and, if approved, the organization that you are volunteering for will be notified. 

1. Complete and Submit the VOLUNTEER APPLICATION below. Note: This must be done on a laptop or desktop. 
2. Complete TRAINING MODULE & Order CRIMINAL HISTORY REPORT - After you have clicked on the submit button of the application, you will automatically be routed to Catholic Mutual Group's website to begin safe environment training and to order a criminal history report. 
   • New Volunteers WHO HAVE NEVER VOLUNTEERED ANYWHERE WITHIN THE DIOCESE OF FORT WAYNE-SOUTH BEND: Create an account and begin your training module with Catholic Mutual Group (CMG). 
   • Renewal Volunteers: You should have received an ID and PASSWORD when you were informed that your volunteer status was up for renewal. Please use the ID and Password given. PLEASE DO NOT CREATE A NEW ACCOUNT. If you have forgotten the ID or Password, please email the Safe Environment Coordinator at [email protected].  Once you have your ID and Password, you can begin your training module with Catholic Mutual Group. If you need to re-access Catholic Mutual Group's website AFTER you have submitted your volunteer application, click here. 
   • Returning Volunteers WHO HAVE VOLUNTEERED AT ANY TIME WITHIN THE DIOCESE OF FORT WAYNE-SOUTH BEND, please email the Safe Environment Coordinator at j[email protected] to obtain your ID and Password. PLEASE DO NOT CREATE A NEW ACCOUNT. Once you have your ID and Password, you can begin your training module with Catholic Mutual Group. If you need to re-access Catholic Mutual Group's website AFTER you have submitted your volunteer application, click here. 
3. Send photo of the frontside of your DRIVER'S LICENSE to the parish's Safe Environment Coordinator at [email protected].

Please note that completing the application process does not guarantee that you are able to participate as a volunteer with children or teenagers at the parish.
