We are committed to the safety and well being of all children who enter into our Nursery. To ensure this, all volunteers are required to complete our safe environment erquirements using the links below.

NURSERY VOLUNTEER POLICY

• All volunteers must be at least twelve (12) years old.
• Volunteers must successful meet all the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend Safe Environment requirements which can be found on our website at seasfw.org (Go to the Parish Life tab and then select Nursery.)
• Volunteers in the Nursery should refrain from using any electronic devices including cell phones while watching children. If there is a personal emergency, please inform the supervisor on duty so that you will be able to step away from the Nursery to handle the situation.
• Please arrive ten minutes before your scheduled shift so that you can assist with registration and drop off.
• It is often necessary to sit on the floor with a child, so please dress accordingly.
• Please do not bring food into the Nursery. Water bottles are allowed.
• If you are ill, please notify us by email at nursery@seasfw.org as soon as possible. Please do not report for your shift if you are experiencing a temperature of 100.0 or more.
• Volunteers are asked to actively engage with the children in a positive manner.
• Any child with ongoing safety/disciplinary issues should be brought to the attention of the supervisor on duty.
• If a child gets hurt, please immediately notify the supervisor on duty. Tissues, latex free band aids, and hand sanitizer are available in the Nursery. Please note that if a child should bleed, all volunteers are required to wear gloves, before treating the child.
• For those volunteering on Sunday or Holy Days of Obligation, please remember that volunteering in the Nursery does not excuse you from your Sunday Mass obligation. Jesus wants to spend time with you too!
