GENERAL HEALTH AND ILLNESS We are unable to accept a child experiencing any of the following:
temperature of 100.0 or more
visible infection of eyes or skin, or has an open wound
any communicable illness such as flu, measles, mumps, chicken pox
We do not administer any medications.
We will have tissues, latex free band-aids, and hand sanitizer available.
PARENT RESPONSIBILITIES
All parents need to remain on the grounds of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton while their child is in the Nursery.
Parents should respond in a timely manner to any alert they receive via Nursery provided pager.
Any diapering or changing is the responsibility of the parent. Staff will page the parent if a child requires his or her diaper changed.
We are unable to provide assistance in the bathroom. Please be sure that your child is wearing a clean pull-up or diaper when they are dropped off in the Nursery. It will be the parents’ responsibility to assist any child who cannot independently use the bathroom. This includes children in the process of being potty trained.
Other than to assist with the above, parents are unable to stay with their child in the Nursery. This is in accordance with the Safe Environment Requirements of the Parish.
PERSONAL PROPERTY
The Nursery has plenty of toys and games for children. If your child brings his or her own toys, we are not responsible if the item is misplaced or damaged.
Any personal items left in the Nursery will be taken to the Lost and Found area of the Church.
FOOD AND BEVERAGES To avoid issues regarding food allergies, we ask that there be no food brought into the Nursery. The only exception to this is baby bottles. These bottles will be labeled when dropping off your child.
EVACUATION POLICY
In the event of an emergency, if you are located on the church side of the campus, please immediately come to the Nursery to pick up your child. Any child not picked up will be taken to the Rectory.
If you are located on the school side of the campus and an evacuation is needed, please go to the Rectory to be reunited with your child.
The Rectory is located at 10517 Unita Drive.
Turn into the driveway at the flagpole with the Vatican Flag.
NURSERY CLOSINGS AND STAFFING
The Nursery is closed for the following holidays: Labor Day weekend, Thanksgiving week (to include the weekend after Thanksgiving), Christmas, Easter weekend, and Memorial Day weekend.
The Nursery is closed on days that Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic School is closed due to weather.
If there is not adequate staff and volunteers to safely watch the number of children in the Nursery, we will need to close or limit the number of children during that Mass or event.
The Nursery depends on volunteers. We ask that if you use the Nursery that you also consider volunteering during future events. Any time you are able to assist us is greatly appreciated! You can sign up on our Parish website under Parish Life, then select Nursery. You can also call the Parish Office at 260-432-0268.
All volunteers must complete and be approved through the Diocese Safe Environment Training Curriculum before working in the Nursery. Links for this requirement can be found on the Nursery Page of the Parish Website.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
We play DVD’s, and show movies in the Nursery. Any movie selected will have a G-rating.
We reserve the right to not provide care if we do not have enough volunteers or if your child is ill.
