National Junior Honor Society (Grades 7 – 8)

The purpose of National Junior Honor Society is to create an enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render service, to promote leadership and citizenship, and to encourage the development of character in our students.  The service-oriented aspect of the program affords students the opportunity to serve not only our school and parish but the Fort Wayne community at large.  NJHS service projects include:

• Right to Life Prayer Service
• Kate's Cart Book Drive
• NJHS Carnival
• Cancer Walk

Student Council (Grades 6 – 8)

The council members are elected each year by their student peers. The council is responsible for coordinating fundraisers to support:

• School dances
• School service programs
• Community service programs
• Local charities 

 

Learning Adventures (Grades K – 8)

Activities offering children a variety of exciting learning opportunities designed to spark imaginations, enhance minds, and energize bodies. Classes include, but are not limited to: canvas painting, holiday themed crafts, gymnastics, taekwondo, Pioneers with a Purpose (service based), soccer, cooking, Lego robotics, and Bricks for Kids. 
 

Young Authors Book Writing Contest (Grade K – 5)

Winners in grades K-2 and 3-5 will be invited to a city wide conference at Wayne High School.  All participating authors will be invited to a local Young Authors’ Party. 
 

Scouting (Grades K – 8)

Both Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts are offered to students. These two outstanding programs are offered after school and focus on:  

• Team building  
• Community service
• Moral development
• Friendship

Girls on the Run (Grades 3-5 & 6-8)
Inspiring girls to recognize their inner strength and celebrate what makes them unique, Girls on the Run is offered for girls in the 3rd-5th grades and 6th-8th grades.  Trained volunteer coaches use research-based curricula to teach lessons through dynamic discussions, activities, and running games.  Students develop an appreciation of health and fitness.  Offered in the Spring and Fall.
