Beginning Easter 2025, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton expands Eucharistic Adoration to every
Tuesday/Wednesday from 6am-8pm. Everyone is welcome to stop in for a few minutes, an
hour, or an afternoon. Ideally, you will want to become a scheduled adorer with a one-hour
weekly commitment.
What is Eucharistic Adoration?Adoration is a Catholic devotion where a consecrated host (the Blessed Sacrament) is
exposed in a Monstrance, allowing people to sit or kneel and pray in the presence of Jesus
Christ, contemplating His presence and receiving His grace.
What is the purpose?Adoration is a way to spend time in prayer and contemplation in the presence of Jesus, to
adore Him, and to receive grace from the Eucharist.
What to doDuring Adoration, people often pray, meditate on scripture, or read about the lives of the
saints. They can also simply sit in silence, allowing themselves to be transformed by the
presence of Christ.
EtiquetteDuring Eucharistic Adoration, it is customary to be respectful, modest, and silent. Electronic
devices should be silenced, and food or drink (water is fine) should not be brought to the
area. If you are a scheduled adorer, arrive on time and leave only when your replacement
arrives.
SignificanceEucharistic Adoration is seen as a way to deepen one’s relationship with Christ and to
experience the transformative power of the Eucharist.
Scheduled AdorersYou are greatly needed! Each hour of Adoration requires at least two scheduled adorers to be
present at all times. This is because the Most Sacred Body of Christ in the Eucharist is
vulnerable and thus must never be left alone. By being part of a team of scheduled adorers
you help provide the seamless coverage from the beginning to the end of our Adoration hours
that make it possible for our church to provide this ministry. Please prayerfully consider
committing to one scheduled hour each week. Your weekly sacrifice is greatly appreciated
and will benefit you, your loved ones, our parish, and our community.
