Education and Formation Ministries

  • Bible Study Facilitator

    Bible Study and other adult education programs play an important role in the spirituality of our parish. Classes are offered throughout the year to enhance personal faith development and community building. Volunteers are needed to help plan, lead discussion groups, and facilitate activities.

    St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic School has many opportunities for your stewardship of time and talent. Volunteers can help in classrooms, the lunchroom, and the library. Tutors are also welcomed.    

  • Children's Liturgy of the Word

    This ministry is offered to all children ages 4 to 6 during the 9:30 am Mass during the school year. Children arrive with their parents for Mass and join the assembly for the Introductory Rites. After the Opening Prayer, the children are dismissed to the choir room with an Adult Leader and Youth Assistants; there they hear and discuss the Sunday Gospel, adapted for children, and participate in a song/activity. The children rejoin their families after the Prayer of the Faithful for the Liturgy of the Eucharist. Volunteers are needed both as leaders for organizing the session, and volunteers to help the kids during the Mass.

  • Fidelis Leaders

    Fidelis is a program inviting girls in grades 6-12 into a sisterhood with women young and old, leading each other to Christ. It is a mentorship group where adult women of all ages are invited to share, listen, organize, and grow with the girls through games, crafts, periodic outings, retreats, and small faith sharing. There are many volunteer opportunities needed for this group.

  • Fraternus Leaders

    Fraternus is a program inviting boys in grades 6-12 into a brotherhood with men young and old, leading each other to Christ. It is a mentorship group where adult men of all ages are invited to share, listen, organize, and grow with the boys through games, periodic outings, and small faith sharing. There are many volunteer opportunities needed for this group.

  • Kingdom Builders Core Team

    Kingdom Builders is a ministry to help build women to receive the Father's goodness and love. They meet the fourth Thursday of the month at 7:00 pm. The core team helps with a variety of roles to keep this ministry going through teaching witnesses and behind the scene planning. Any woman who has attended a Kingdom Builders Gathering and feels called to give back is welcomed to volunteer.

  • MOMs Group Core Team

    All mothers of elementary-aged kids and younger are invited to take part in MOMs (Mary Our Mother). This group meets the first and third Tuesday of every month, September through May, from 9:00 to 11:00 am (with breaks aligned to the school year). The core team is involved in planning and facilitating these meetings through a variety of roles.

  • RCIA Sponsor

    Adults, teenagers, and children seeking to learn more about the Catholic faith participate in the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) process. In RCIA, people are prepared to receive one or more the the following sacraments: Baptism, Confirmation, Eucharist, and Reconciliation. Volunteers are needed to serve as facilitators, catechists, sponsors, and to help with hospitality.

  • Youth Formation/ Religious Education

    This ministry provides weekly religious education classes for those who do not attend Catholic school during the school year for children in the parish in grades 7 and 8, and monthly for grades 1-6 who participate in our Family Catechesis program.  With an average class size of 13 and a minmum of 2 catechists per class, many volunteer catechists are needed to support this ministry.  Adults, college, and high school students are invited to particpate. Other opportunities include: assisting children with special needs, office help, carpool, nursery, and hospitality.

  • Small Faith Community Facilitator

    Small faith communities meet two times a year, in the fall and in the spring, for six weeks. Topics and materials are provided by the parish, but volunteers are needed to help facilitate meetings at different times every day of the week to work with all of our parishioners busy schedules.

  • Vacation Bible School

    Offered each summer, this week long program relies entirely on adult and teen volunteers in the planning and implementation of the program with guidance from the Director of Religious Education. The program is open to all children in the parish in pre-school through grade 5. Volunteers are welcomed and needed from middle school students through adults in order to offer Vacation Bible School at the parish.

  • Youth Sacramental Formation Team

    This ministry prepares students for First Reconciliation, First Communion and Confirmation. Volunteers assist as facilitators/presenters on retreats, as hospitality at meetings, as catechists for special needs students and as possible sponsors. This ministry welcomes anyone over the age of 16 who has a desire to share the beauty of the Catholic faith with our students of the parish.
