Dear School Families,
We are looking forward to the start of another wonderful school year! As we prepare for each new school year, we continually look at our daily procedures and make changes to help improve safety and efficiency in daily procedures. Please read the information below that outlines our arrival, dismissal, and transportation procedures for the 2023-24 school year!
Southwest Allen County Schools will NOT be providing bussing to students/families this year. Parents will need to find alternative transportation for their children (Sonshine Academy, YMCA bus, carpool, etc.).
Arrival
· Parents enter lot from either the Homestead or Aboite entrance
· Follow the perimeter of the lot until you reach the Drop-Off Zone
· Students MUST be prepared to exist on the sidewalk. Please do not get out of your car and allow your child(ren) exit on the parking lot side
· Students should be unbuckled and ready to exit the car as soon as you approach the drop-off zone
· Students should stay on the sidewalk and WALK to door 28
· If parents need to park and walk into the building, please park in the designated area (facing the church) and use the designated crosswalk to get to the sidewalk

Preschool Parking Lot Details (ALL families who have a preschooler in any class)
PK families will park in the two islands in front of the church and walk to the church portico to get their child(ren) and return to their cars. This is ALL families/students who have a preschool (3 yr. Olds, morning, afternoon and all day sessions)
These lots require ALL parents/drivers to walk up and get the students (all grade levels) from the vestibule/portico and walk ALL of the children to the vehicle. This parking area will have moving vehicles. Thank you for your help with these safety precautions! The PK lot will be dismissed independently (not being dismissed by staff like we do for the Aboite and Homestead lots). Parents will load their children and immediately depart. The goal is to have this lot emptied prior to the Aboite and Homestead Lots begin to dismiss. Please drive forward and not reverse out of spots. The PK parking lot students and aftercare bus will leave the classrooms at first bell.
· Any family who have students in PK AND children in upper grades will park in the designated area for PK.
